DBS survey: 88% of large businesses are deploying or piloting tokenised money; stablecoins most adopted, ahead of tokenised deposits
A new DBS report, The Great Rewiring: Money in a new order, based on a survey of 422 business and finance leaders at organisations with annual revenue exceeding USD 500 million across 11 markets, found that 88% of businesses were already deploying or piloting tokenised money use cases. Stablecoins (63%) were the most widely adopted tokenised instruments, followed by tokenised deposits (53%) and tokenised money market funds (52%); most leaders expect the benefits within the next two years, led by improved auditability and traceability (72%) and real-time cross-border payments (71%). 64% of respondents wanted banks to serve as a single point of integration into the tokenised money ecosystem, and 63% sought support for pilots, proofs of concept and integration.

DBS, OCBC and UOB complete first live Singapore dollar tokenised deposit transactions on Swift's ledger
OCBC said on 10 September 2026 that DBS, OCBC and UOB have completed live domestic Singapore dollar transactions using tokenised deposits on Swift's blockchain-based ledger, the first time the three Singapore banks have executed live interbank transactions using tokenised deposits. The release says the transactions follow Swift's July 2026 announcement that its ledger was ready for initial use, with 17 banks across six continents preparing live tokenised-deposit transactions. OCBC also referred to its own live USD cross-border transaction on the ledger, and UOB said it had expanded from Hong Kong dollar to Singapore dollar and US dollar transactions beyond traditional banking hours.
