Moscow Exchange plans to open Russia's first organised digital currency market from 1 December 2026, starting with BTC, ETH and USDT

Moscow Exchange said on 2 November 2026 that it plans to let financial market participants trade digital currencies from 1 December 2026, which it describes as the first organised digital currency market in Russia, operating under the recently adopted Federal Law No. 282-FZ “On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights”. Trading will initially cover BTC, ETH and USDT in anonymous and addressed modes, run on the exchange's stock market technology with trades included in NCC's single clearing, follow the stock market schedule of 06:50 to 23:50 Moscow time, and offer TOD and TOM settlement plus swap transactions for liquidity management; the first stage is expected to involve pilot trades as participants connect. Under the law, non-qualified investors will be able to buy digital currency after testing, up to 300 thousand roubles a year through one broker. (Source text in Russian; summary translated.)
