Standard Chartered launches RLUSD custody and plans collateral integration with Ripple and LMAX Group

Standard Chartered announced on 12 October 2026 that it now supports institutional custody of Ripple USD (RLUSD) issued on the XRP Ledger, available to eligible clients through its DIFC Branch, which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority. The bank, Ripple and LMAX Group intend to enable RLUSD as eligible collateral for agreed LMAX Group products by mirroring the value of collateral to LMAX Group without transferring the underlying RLUSD to the trading venue. The parties say these future capabilities remain subject to final documentation, testing, applicable laws and regulations, internal approvals and jurisdictional readiness.
